TFR GROUP TAKE WAREHOUSE IN ALFRETON

Industrial/Warehouse News

Following an extensive agent-led search for new premises, The Furniture Recycling Group jumped at the opportunity to relocate to a new facility at The Amber Business Centre in Riddings, Alfreton, being marketed through FHP Property Consultants.

Following the relocation of Parker Knoll Furniture from 3 industrial units at Amber Business Centre to a new build facility at Castlewood Business Park, their former premises came available to let and TFR, represented by BB&J Commercial, expressed an early interest and terms were agreed.

Whilst Parker Knoll manufactured new furniture at the property, TFR work at the other end of the cycle and in effect reverse manufacture furniture, returning it to constituent components such as timber and fabrics for reuse. This is a growing industry and TFR have found a niche working with a variety of customers from different sectors including local authorities, hotel chains and high street retailers looking to improve their carbon footprint through using a sustainable disposal method with future cost certainty.

Tim Richardson from FHP Property Consultants comments:

“TFR’s process is very similar to the previous occupiers albeit dismantling rather than assembly and the property appeared to fit the bill well providing a crossflow of work with goods in at one side and raw material out of the other.  We were pleased to agree terms with BB&J Commercial and expedite completion of the lease in a timely manner to facilitate TFRs relocation”.

Chris Wright from BB&J Commercial comments:

“The search remit for the Furniture Recycling Group was fairly broad, we were considering property options within a 15 mile radius of Ilkeston.   The Amber Business Centre was a natural choice for TFR given the good local labour supply and as the building was previously used for furniture manufacture, the layout and fit out worked well with my clients operation.”

Philip Caspell, Investment Manager at CEG on behalf of the landlord adds: “It is great to welcome TFR to the estate.  This deal, coming so quickly after the unit became vacant, highlights the popularity of the Amber Business Centre to modern occupiers.  We look forward to working with TFR in the future”.

FHP Property Consultants have three other units remaining available on Amber Business Centre of 12,500 sq ft, 14,400 sq ft and 40,400 sq ft undergoing refurbishment and available to let.
