Interests

I love sport - cricket, golf, football - playing and watching. Dealing with the purchase of Cotgrave Golf Club (now rebranded the Nottinghamshire) was a particularly pleasing acquisition as it allows me to justify more time on the golf course!

I spend all my time walking around the city centre and I feel we should all do our bit to make it clean, safe and welcoming. Seeing people drop litter infuriates me. Clearly these idiots have no respect or indeed any manners.

The retail team at Midlands property consultancy FHP has secured a deal which brings another flagship lifestyle brand to Nottingham’s main retail pitch. Aubin & Wills, the sibling of cult ‘college’ brand Jack Wills, has signed a new 10 year lease on a character property at the corner of Bridlesmith Gate and Low Pavement – widely regarded as the most prestige part of Nottingham’s retail and leisure quarter.

The East Midlands largest retail property consultancy, FHP, says Nottingham must prepare itself for a period of significant change in the retail industry.

In its winter 2011-2012 Nottingham retail study, EG award winner FHP says that the city has proved remarkably resilient in the face of some of the most challenging conditions the high street has ever seen, with a retail vacancy rate which has edged up only slightly to 11.78%. At the peak of the market in 2006 the vacancy rate was 9.2%.
