Mairéad Gethings

I am a Director within the FHP Professional Services Team, experienced with providing occupiers, landlords and developers across the UK with strategic Business Rates advice to proactively minimise their exposure to Business Rates. Such includes appeal work, empty rates mitigation strategies, advice during redevelopment works, challenging Completion Notices and rates account management. In addition to the above, my role involves undertaking property valuations of single assets and portfolios of all commercial property types and residential developments for both major lending institutions and private individuals; and rent reviews and lease renewals for all commercial property types.

• Providing bespoke business rates advice and an efficient and effective business rates management service to Shopping Centre landlords to assist with minimising expenditure and maximising the profitability of their Centres
• Providing business rates advice to landlords, occupiers and developers nationwide with an emphasis on business rates auditing, empty rates strategies, budgeting and challenging the 2017 Rating List through the Check, Challenge, Appeal process
• Commercial property valuations
• Commercial property rent reviews and lease renewals

Outside of work I like to keep myself busy and like many at FHP, I enjoy sport.  I am a member of a local women’s hockey team, enjoy spending time walking in the local countryside and I like to hit the slopes in the Alps for some skiing when I can.  Aside from sport, I enjoy trying out the many independent coffee shops, restaurants and bars throughout Nottingham at the weekends.  I also love to travel and I am always looking for a new corner of the world to explore.
