Peter Irons
Profile
I made a conscious decision to get in to facilities management in 2006 after working as an operations manager for BT Internet. I knew the facilities sector would give the variety I was looking for in a career, I was right.
12 years later I have worked in various facilities environments my most recent being 8 years providing TFM services for Highways England where Health and Safety and Compliance were paramount.
Moving to FHP in 2018 provides me with a very exciting new challenge and variety on a whole other level.
Current Role
I have a lead role with building compliance and contractor management and help the surveyors achieve sector leading Health & Safety standards that meet all statutory regulations, leaving our clients/tenants with a comfortable and safe environment to live and work in.
Interests
My number one passion is downhill mountain biking, I have been racing and riding since 1993 and have many broken bones over the years proving my commitment to the sport. I am a very keen swimmer, swimming a mile most mornings before work and I have now taken this interest to the open water swimming at Colwick Park lake on a Saturday afternoon where I thrash out at least 3km a session.
Anything outdoors tends to be up my street camping, hiking, riding, swimming. My son is also a rider and races BMX regionally and nationally, this takes up most Sundays throughout the summer where I take up the post of team manager/mechanic/logistics/coach also know as Dad for short.
