Business Rates Account Manager
“ I am a problem solver by nature and enjoy finding new ways to use our software to best help meet our clients’ business rates needs”
I joined FHP in March 2021 as a Business Rates Account Manager as part of the Professional Services team at our Birmingham office. My background in Accounts and Finance means that dealing with the large volume of numbers, various spreadsheets and specialist rating databases comes easily to me.
I started working in the Business Rates sector in 2014 and my experience includes budgeting, rates payments and reducing client liabilities. Prior to joining FHP, I worked for a National firm dealing with business rates for a major food store, a large restaurant chain and serviced offices in the City of London. I am interested in the application of software solutions in order to improve processes and deliver results.
- Providing our shopping centre clients with clear monthly forecasting for their business rate liabilities
- Playing a key role in the scheduling of our business rates mitigation scheme
- Ensuring that our clients rate demands are correct and that all reliefs are correctly applied
- Supporting our business rates team in forecasting savings and advising on likely outcomes on splits and mergers
I have an eclectic taste in music ranging from Classic Rock and Grunge to 80s Power Ballads and Take That! I enjoy going to gigs and am a regular at The O2 Academy and the old NIA in Birmingham. A guilty pleasure of mine is Karaoke, with my ‘go-to’ songs being Elton John’s Your Song and Dance the Night Away by The Mavericks.
I am an avid gamer and keep an eye out for the latest releases, but also still enjoy playing the classics from my childhood. I am also a craft beer enthusiast and my favourite pub in Birmingham City Centre is The Wellington which is only a stone’s throw from our office.
