BARCLAYS BANK ON FHP TO SUPPORT DISPOSAL STRATEGY

Retail News

FHP is delighted to have completed the lease surrender of the former Barclays Bank in Stone, Staffordshire.

The former bank – which closed last year – will be occupied by The Artisan Boutique, a specialist arts and crafts retailer that provides creative workshops and classes for local people.

Refurbishment works are well underway and the boutique is scheduled to reopen later this year.

The property is one of several instructions that FHP has secured with Barclays in Shropshire and Staffordshire, as part of support for the firm’s wider disposal strategy.

We have also surrendered the former Barclays Bank in Market Street, Oakengates as well as secured the freehold sale of the bank’s former branch on Madeley High Street in Telford.

Ben Clinton, Surveyor of FHP Property Consultants said:  “We are very pleased to be working with Barclays at sites across the region. In Stone, our early engagement with the landlord allowed us to better understand the appetite for a surrender, whilst our marketing campaign helped us to introduce a fantastic occupier to replace Barclays and assist with the surrender negotiations.

Surrendering bank leases can sometimes be challenging to negotiate but we are really pleased to have delivered a great deal for all involved. The Artisan Boutique has exciting plans for this substantial property and we look forward to visiting the property again when it has reopened.”
