EPCs are becoming an increasingly important aspect when selling or letting your property

Whilst you may think an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is only relevant when you are buying a new fridge or freezer it is now highly relevant in Commercial Property market. An EPC is a record of a building’s energy efficiency, enabling prospective buyers and tenants to take energy efficiency and fuel costs into consideration as part of their investment.

It is now a legal requirement for Agents and Landlords who are placing properties on the market to commission an EPC before marketing begins. If you’re not able to produce an EPC, you could face fines of up to £5,000.

In addition to the above, from 2018 any building that is not assessed at Level E or higher cannot, by law, be sold. Not only will these prevent sale, but it will have a negative effect upon value.

As part of our EPC service, we’ll give you an informed energy rating and supply you with your certificate. You’ll also receive a recommendations report on how you could improve the efficiency of your premises.
