FHP are delighted to announce the completion of successful negotiation of compensation monies in respect of 6 adjoining residential owners whose properties were affected by the Environment Agency’s Nottingham Trent Left Bank Flood Alleviation Scheme at Long Eaton.

FHP Partner, Cameron Butler, who successfully advised the claimants, said:-

“It is very pleasing that I was able to successfully negotiate realistic Heads of Claim in respect of compensation monies to the satisfaction of each of my clients after what became a very protracted matter.”

Cameron Butler advised the claimants throughout the process from initial consultation, making sure appropriate measures were in place to limit and monitor any disruption during construction of the flood defence wall and reviewing the agreed full reinstatement works to the garden areas to the satisfaction of each of the owners. In addition to the reinstatement works undertaken, the Heads of Claim provided for compensation monies also having regard to other factors including replacement of an existing embankment with construction of new wall and the disturbance period.

Sylvia Rimmington, speaking on behalf of her adjoining neighbours, commented:-

“We are all very impressed with the outcome of Cameron Butler’s negotiations and thank him for his very professional and valued service.”

The FHP Valuation Department has a wealth of experience in advising on compensation matters, particularly on behalf of claimants. Current instructions include advising on behalf of a number of residential and commercial claimants impacted by the A46 Newark to Widmerpool Trunk Road Improvements and the Loughborough Inner Relief Road & Town Improvement Scheme.
