Since the start of the pandemic, the East Midlands commercial property market like all sectors of the economy has changed substantially, but one thing we have seen remain is a steady stream of office, industrial and retail deals throughout Derbyshire and beyond. As a result, we are delighted to confirm the appointment of Estée Coulthard-Boardman to provide support and grow our agency team throughout Derbyshire and the East Midlands.
To bring such positive news of our expansion as a result of increased workloads hopefully reflects that whilst no one can foresee the route for the economy over the next 12 months or more, by doing things “the right way” for clients both old and new our services are appreciated and hopefully with Estée now on board we can deliver an even better range of services to our clients throughout the county.
In the first instance, primarily Estée will assist on retail, office and industrial/warehouse lettings and disposals throughout the Midlands from our Derby base at Cardinal Square.
Estée commented:
“I am very excited to start my career at FHP Property Consultants, working from the Derby office. I have just completed a Masters Degree in Real Estate at Nottingham Trent University and, prior to that, in 2019 I graduated from the University of Liverpool with a First Class Honours Degree in Business Management. It will be great to finally apply my studies to the real working world and I have no doubt that I shall be learning from the best. I am hugely looking forward to seeing what my future with FHP holds, and I hope to rise to the challenge and become a great surveyor.”

Estée will be working closely with Associate Director, Darran Severn, handling a wide-range of instructions across Derbyshire, together with Equity Directors Tim Gilbertson, Alan Pearson and John Proctor on both existing premises and new build schemes as well as liaising with FHP’s teams in both Nottingham and Birmingham.
John Proctor added:

It’s a very worrying time for young Graduates in many professions, including our own, with the jobs market so badly affected by the pandemic and we have seen a number of training programmes across the industry cancelled leading to high calibre candidates who had achieved their aim of gaining a job at a well-respected practice finding that they no longer have any work.
At FHP we always try on a year by year basis to take on new young Graduate or Post Graduate Surveyors into the FHP family and encourage them to become fully qualified Chartered Surveyors as soon as possible because it is vital for our business that we have young, enthusiastic and knowledgeable people who can continue to grow with FHP and ultimately hopefully become Directors within the company.
Two of the Shareholders within FHP started life either on a year out or straight from University with a number of our other senior team members also having been at FHP for their full working career with a good number of other previous Graduate Surveyors now being valued Clients of the business.
We continue as a business to be organically expansionist in our outlook and we value our partnership with Nottingham Trent University which is our stable of first choice for recruitment.”
