FHP SELL QUALITY INDUSTRIAL UNIT AT ALFRETON

February 20, 2013

Industrial/Warehouse News

Acting on behalf of Blueprint, FHP have followed the retail trend and achieved a January sale at a fair, not reduced price for a substantial high quality industrial unit in Alfreton.

Acting jointly with Innes England, Tim Gilbertson, Director of FHP has negotiated and overseen the sale of high calibre detached warehouse/production space on the Monk Road Industrial Estate in Alfreton, just off the A38 and within minutes access of Junction 28 of the M1 Motorway.

A sale has been agreed to David Nieper Limited, represented by Sean Bremner, Director of Lambert Smith Hampton’s Nottingham office.

David Nieper is a British fashion house based in Alfreton, Derbyshire designing and manufacturing women’s fashion, knitwear and nightwear.  The family company sells directly to private clients both in the UK and overseas.  This freehold purchase gives further space for David Nieper to expand and cope with record demand for its British made fashion.

Tim Gilbertson who acted for the vendors commented:

“It is always great to start the New Year with a sale which the retailers always suggest is the way forward and this deal was concluded within a matter of weeks from agreement of terms immediately prior to Christmas.

This high quality building is set in a superb location, just off the A38 in Alfreton with terrific transport links and also the benefit of good quality fitted accommodation with large yard.

It came as no surprise that once the eventual party showed interest through their agent Sean Bremner at Lambert Smith Hampton that we quickly agreed terms.  Equally pleasing though was the speed with which the transaction was agreed and documented.  Literally from first viewing until handing the keys over took no more than 4 weeks, including the Christmas break.  If only all transactions could be so quick!

The deal showed again the lack of good quality space in the industrial and warehouse sector in the East Midlands on either a freehold or leasehold basis and I am actively looking for additional instructions to fill the gap for parties known to be in the market and seriously looking to purchase or rent in 2013.”

Sean Bremner of Lambert Smith Hampton, who acted on behalf of the purchaser, commented:

“We are delighted to have secured the premises on behalf of David Nieper Limited.  The quality of this unit, its location in proximity to their Head Office and potential to satisfy both current and future expansion provided an excellent solution.  2012 was a fantastic year for David Nieper with record sales at the family owned fashion house partly as a result of customers buying British.  The acquisition is a reflection of its continued manufacturing expansion which has seen them employ 28 additional staff in the past year and earn them a feature on BBC Breakfast news.”

Tim Gilbertson concluded by adding:

“We have a further unit available on the estate which is now also ‘under offer’ and which we hope to report shortly as being sold, this will provide our clients with an ideal start to 2013.
