FHP are pleased to announce the successful completion of negotiations significantly impacting upon a Client’s family home, commercial premises and business, due to the Loughborough Inner Relief Road and town centre improvements.

Following full funding approval of the scheme, FHP were able to successfully negotiate a compensation settlement that helped to enable the Claimant, Mr & Mrs Ward, to retire and purchase a replacement family home.

FHP Director, Cameron Butler, who advised the Claimants, said:-

“I was absolutely delighted to help advise and negotiate on our Client’s behalf in respect of the County Council’s acquisition of their Land and Buildings comprising the residential and commercial properties, in addition to the extinguishment of their business which was established in 1903.”

“The negotiations became protracted and the matter was particularly complex in that we were aiming to achieve a simultaneous exchange in both the sale of our Client’s properties and related purchase of replacement family home.”

Mr & Mrs Ward commented:-

We would like to thank Cameron Butler for his invaluable work, advice and expertise during the compulsory purchase of our home and family butchers business. Recommended by our accountant, Cameron was outstandingly professional and, despite numerous challenges from the County Council, remained resolute during the long and technical negotiations. Without his dedication it would have been almost impossible to have undertaken these negotiations and continue to run our business. The efforts of Cameron minimised the stress of this process, for which we and our family will be forever grateful.  We would have no hesitation in recommending FHP to people in the future, as would our accountant and solicitor.”

The FHP Valuation Department is currently advising on a number of compensation matters, including claimants impacted by the A46 Newark to Widmerpool Trunk Road Improvements and a number of residential and commercial claimants impacted by the two new routes comprising NET Phase 2.
