FHP’s Business Rates Team continue to make savings for clients with regard to their Business Rates liabilities.  In this instance at Genesis Park FHP were engaged by an occupier, You Fill Limited, to appeal their Business Rates assessment. 

An appeal was lodged on their behalf and following discussions with the Valuation Office, FHP were able to reduce the 2005 Rateable Value which not only resulted in a rebate for the occupier but also effect a reduction in the 2010 Rating List reducing the occupier’s business rates liabilities up to 2014/2015.

“At first glance this assessment appeared to be correct however, using our knowledge of how buildings are rated, we were able to spot a number of inaccuracies which has lead to our clients being overcharged for the past years and would have led to overcharging in future years.  By agreeing this assessment with the Valuation Office we have now gained our client not only peace of mind that their assessment is correct but also reduced their onward liabilities and gained a rebate.”

 

“Every occupier of commercial premises is able to appeal their Rateable Value and we are happy to investigate on a no obligation basis whether a reduction may be possible.  FHP work on a simple success related basis so if no saving is made then no charge is payable.”
