FHP Property Consultants are delighted to announce they have been instructed to market  the first phase of the long-awaited £7 million scheme to build a retail and restaurant complex next to Derby County’s Pride Park Stadium. The development called ‘The Plaza @ Pride Park’ – was revealed to fans at the last game of the season against Millwall and at the recent Derby Property Summit.

The Plaza development is being jointly undertaken by Derby County Football Club and Derby based developer Cedar House Investments and is to be built within the car park to the northeast of the stadium adjacent to existing occupiers Frankie & Benny’s, Greggs, Subway and nearby Starbucks.

The initial phase will provide two units for a mixture of retail and restaurant totalling 7,000ft². Once completed and occupiers are secured it is hopeful the scheme will create dozens of new jobs.

David Hargreaves of FHP Property Consultants comments:

“This new ‘Plaza’ next to the stadium will create both an exciting and great opportunity for both the end users and the people of Pride Park. This development will enhance the retail/leisure offering on Pride Park and we welcome the introduction to the market. ”

The Plaza will also be complimented by the major development of the £27.5 million multi-sports arena currently under construction just behind the stadium. The arena is to include a veledrome, 12 court sports hall, gym, multi-function rooms, spinning studio and 5,000 seat concert venue, due to be completed at the end of 2014.

George Dunnicliff of FHP Property Consultants comments:

“Being just one of more than 10,000 people that work on Pride Park each day I am particularly pleased to see the unveiling of this new retail/leisure development. This should improve the food offering to both workers and visitors to Pride Park and we hope to announce the identity of the occupiers shortly.
