Fisher Hargreaves Proctor, acting on behalf of their retained clients, Gatecrasher, have acquired a site of 0.32 acres on Arundel Street in Sheffield from clients of Maybridge Commercial.

The property, which is adjacent to Gatecrasher’s former night club which burned down 12 months ago, has been acquired to facilitate the redevelopment of the combined sites.

David Hargreaves, who negotiated the acquisition, confirmed that a planning application was likely to be submitted in the near future for a new 25,000 sq ft night club for Gatecrasher at basement and ground floor together with up to 300 student apartments above.

Adjacent to the site is the UNITE student development, whilst opposite McAleer & Rushe are currently building a 220 bed hotel for Jurys Inn and 70,000 sq ft of Grade A offices.

David Hargreaves confirmed that in due course Gatecrasher will seek a development partner to deliver the scheme on a joint venture basis.

FHP are the retained property advisors for Gatecrasher, one of the country’s leading night club brands.
