With a strong background in the industrial and office sectors across the West Midlands, I’ve also gained valuable experience in retail, land, and development projects. Over the years, I’ve advised a wide range of clients on both disposals and lettings, including well-known organisations such as UPS, Mileway, London & Cambridge Properties, Coventry City Council, Frasers Group, IM Properties, Complex Development Projects, and the National Trust.

Prior to my current role, I worked in both Agency and Property Management at Bromwich Hardy, where I developed a well-rounded understanding of the property lifecycle and the needs of both landlords and occupiers. Originally from Melbourne, Australia, I relocated to the UK in 2020 and have since built a strong network and deep local knowledge of the West Midlands commercial property market.

In September 2024, I joined FHP’s Retail and Leisure team. After graduating from Reading University’s Real Estate program, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with FHP, which will greatly enhance my learning, enable me to progress in the property sector and help advance my career.

After spending my placement year in the office and industrial team, in FHP’s Derby office, enjoying the experience and improving my knowledge, I was delighted to be asked to return to FHP this summer after completing my BSc (Honours) Real Estate degree at Sheffield Hallam University. I’m excited to continue learning and developing my knowledge whilst hopefully completing some deals!

After spending my placement year in the Retail and Leisure Team at FHP in 2019, I graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a 2:1 BSc (Hons) in Real Estate with my Dissertation focused on whether the Nottingham student accommodation market was going to become over supplied. After graduating I did a Ski season in Canada to become an instructor and then spent a year in the Student Lettings and Management Team at FHP Student Living. I also gained experience at Sladen Estates in their development department.

I am a member of the Retail and Leisure team at FHP, working in the Birmingham office, operating all across the West Midlands. Alongside work, I am in the process of completing my Real Estate Management (MSc Hons) degree at Birmingham City University.

In July 2023 I joined FHP’s Derby Office where I work on industrial, office and retail instructions across the region. I am currently in my second year of a Degree Apprenticeship in Real Estate at Nottingham Trent University, intending to graduate and qualify as a Chartered Surveyor. FHP will provide me with hands-on experience that will benefit my learning and development in my career in property.

I joined FHP during the summer in 2022 whilst completing my MSc in Real Estate at Nottingham Trent University. Prior to this I previously graduated from the University of Nottingham with a 2:1 in History.

I work predominately in FHP’s Derby Office dealing with the sale and lettings of all forms of commercial property from office, industrial and retail and I cover most of Derbyshire and assist on instructions across the whole of the East Midlands.

I am a member of the Retail and Leisure Agency team at FHP.  I am in the process of completing my degree apprenticeship at Nottingham Trent University going down the Real Estate pathway with the intention to graduate and qualify as a Chartered Surveyor in 2024.

I am delighted to have started my real estate career in a company such as FHP who are the leading property consultants within the East Midlands. After just completing a Master’s degree in Real Estate at Nottingham Trent University, I am excited to progress within the property industry and see what the future holds for me at FHP. With some experience in the office sector already, I am looking forward to growing my knowledge and gaining new experience within the other sectors.

I have over 17 years experience in the property industry which has taken me from FM, to residential block, to commercial management and latterly to lease advisory and retail agency having joined FHP in 2014 as a management surveyor.

While these roles vary from one to the next, the common thread is having the ability to make a sound assessment of a given situation and give my clients the advice they need to achieve the best outcome possible. I believe this is my primary skill which I apply to whatever project I am working on.

My background is predominantly within the retail and leisure sector, having advised landlords, investors and developers on a wide range of UK wide transactions since 2005. I have also provided strategic acquisition and disposal advice to widely known occupiers such as Apple, Vodafone, Starbucks, One Stop, Wolseley, Barclays, Cash Access UK and a host of other national and regional names.

Previously I was Head of Midlands Retail & Leisure at Cushman & Wakefield, where the Birmingham based team had some huge successes, most notably the retention of EGi’s most active agent award for 5 consecutive years.

Clients I have worked particularly close with include LCP, M&G, Wesleyan, Bruntwood, Cala Homes, Calthorpe Estates, Heimstaden, Starbucks and Goodstone Living.

Standout career transactions include the investment acquisition of Gracechurch Shopping Centre Sutton Coldfield, Exchange Buildings New Street Birmingham, The School Yard Harborne, and high-profile leasing transactions including Flight Club Temple Street Birmingham, Cotswold Company Leamington Spa, Tesco Express Hagley Road Birmingham, Koi Ki Harborne and Coffee #1 Moseley.

I am part of the Office and Industrial team at FHP having joined in June 2017.  I graduated with an RICS accredited Surveying Degree from Nottingham Trent University in 2011.  I then spent several years working for my family business in the fresh produce sector before reverting back to property in 2016 where I went on to become a Chartered Surveyor in 2020.

I have been with FHP for 14 years and am part of the Retail and Leisure Agency team advising on leasing, sale, asset management and acquisitions. I cover a wide spectrum of property including High Street, Retail Parks, Leisure Schemes, Shopping Centres, Neighbourhood Parades and Out of Town.

I pride myself on my pro-active, honest approach and determination to get deals over the line, delivering the best results for my clients.  I work for a range of clients from corporate funds through to private individuals, some of which include Tesco, DTZ Investors, Blackrock, LCP/MCore, Evolve Estates, Threadneedle, Nottingham City Council and ALB Group.

I am a Director within the FHP Professional Services Team, experienced with providing occupiers, landlords and developers across the UK with strategic Business Rates advice to proactively minimise their exposure to Business Rates. Such includes appeal work, empty rates mitigation strategies, advice during redevelopment works, challenging Completion Notices and rates account management.

In addition to the above, my role involves undertaking property valuations of single assets and portfolios of all commercial property types and residential developments for both major lending institutions and private individuals; and rent reviews and lease renewals for all commercial property types.

At FHP I undertake a diverse range of work with the central theme being development and investment.  Land, properties for conversion to alternative uses, investments requiring active asset management and everything in between.  Retail, family home residential, affordable housing, city living, private rented sector and student housing are all areas that float my boat…!

My work ranges over the wider Midlands area to include Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Staffordshire, Northamptonshire and Yorkshire. 

Originally from the South, I relocated to Nottingham in 2003. My background includes being a West End Office Agent, City of London Leasing Agent, Development Director for a Midlands property company and working at a senior level in Local Government.

I have wide experience in all property sectors from both a professional and Agency/Development perspective.

I joined FHP in 2014 having previously worked for a surveying practice in West London focusing on office and industrial instructions within close proximity of Heathrow Airport.

I now form part of FHP’s Office and Industrial Team working from the Derby office where I focus on the sale, leasing and acquisition of office and Industrial premises in strategic locations along the M1, A50 and A38 corridor across Derbyshire and the East/West Midlands.

I’m a Director within the FHP Retail and Leisure Team focused on Roadside Retail, Development, Shopping Centre and High Street leasing and acquisitions for a number of retail and leisure clients across the Midlands and throughout the rest of the UK.

I act on behalf of a number of tenants including Starbucks, Mother Hubbards Fish & Chips, Relic x Hooked Vintage Clothing, Simmons Bakers and NRG Fitness in terms of acquisitions.

I act on behalf of the Victoria Centre, Derbion Centre and a number of regional shopping centres, neighbourhood schemes and high street and roadside retail and leisure space on behalf of landlords across the region.

I joined FHP several years ago as one of the dominant agencies in the region, attracted by a shared ethos of quality of service, in depth market knowledge, adding value, teamwork and proactive approach. I have practised as a surveyor in Derby for many years and jumped at the opportunity to head up the Derby Office. The city and its environs have a healthy economy driven by manufacturing and high tech industries.

Having qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1996 I have worked for both national and regional practices across the East Midlands. I have and continue to deal with a wide range of properties and sectors including industrial and distribution, offices, development land, and retail.

Having had a many years of experience in the transactional side of the business, I now focus on property matters such as rent reviews, lease renewals, valuation, land use and strategic advice. My hands on market knowledge enables me to provide the best advice for clients. Our in depth knowledge in the market combined with a practical approach and wide resources allow us to provide sound advice.

I am predominantly involved in the office and industrial occupier and investment sectors advising in the leasing, sale and acquisition of property across the East Midlands and more specifically Nottinghamshire. I also advise on industrial developments and office to residential conversion opportunities.

Within the Professional Services Department, my day-to-day role involves dealing principally in Property Valuations and Investment Acquisition. I’m also trained as a Level 4 EPC Energy Professor to add to the range of services we’re able to provide our customers.

I’ve been part of the Nottingham Property Market for many years and am also now actively involved in the Newark Retail Market. As such I have many contacts and have advised clients in Investment Acquisition and in the Letting and Investment sale of Fat Face on Middlegate in 2010.

I qualified as a Level 4 Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) Surveyor in 2008 and now undertake a range of assessments on all types of commercial buildings, ranging from a bar/restaurant complex to large and small industrial units, and a retail parade. My current role also includes bank Valuation Work, Investment Sales and advising in Property Litigation.

FHP are the dominant Retail and Leisure Agent within the Midlands, winning the EGi East Midlands most active agent award for the last 14 years. We offer a unique service to our clients with our lateral thinking and in-depth knowledge of the market given our presence throughout the Midlands, by reducing voids and driving value and returns for our clients.

Without doubt, FHP is the dominant agent in the Industrial/Warehouse market throughout the East Midlands and I’m proud of the fact that the strength of this domination has been mirrored by my rise through the ranks at FHP.

Whilst still keeping my hand in with Office deals (both acquisitions and disposal) my time is spent mainly advising ‘big shed’ occupiers, landlords and developers, but still taking care of owner occupiers in both corporate and family-run businesses.

Always changing, always needing to think on your feet and respond, the property world is no different to any other strand of business. I’m proud of my involvement in the development of any number of new Industrial and Warehouse schemes during the heady days of 2007. But looking back, I am as equally proud now of deals completed during the recession and the very tough times we all faced, when smaller scale clients say a big ‘thank you’ for finding them an occupier for their pension-fund-owned unit.

Now with the market returning there is a real buzz in the sector again, design and build deals are being done, developers are talking, but as yet not acting upon, their desire to speculatively develop and I am shifting more ‘big sheds’ than ever. It seems for the next year or two lack of stock rather than lack of demand will be our key problem to solve.

I set up FHP back in 1990 alongside John and Brian, and I head up the Retail and Leisure Team who are one of the most dominant retail agency teams in within the East Midlands, and certainly the most active.

I went on to establish FHP Living, which is now one of the pre-eminant residential agencies in Nottingham, covering Land, Sales, Lettings, Management and Development. Our commercial and a residential companies now work seamlessly alongside each other, meaning we’ve been involved with some of the most forward thinking developments in Nottingham from the initial stages right through to sales and completion, including Trent Basin.

Prior to setting up FHP, I was the Director of Nottingham Development Enterprise Limited, a public/private sector organisation, and prior to that was a Governor of Nottingham High School and was Chairman of the Trustees at St Joseph’s School. Having graduated from Nottingham Trent Polytechnic in 1984, I previously acted as member of the Alumni Board at Nottingham Trent University, and was schooled and grew up in Halifax, West Yorkshire.

Having the privilege of a strong Admin and Back Up Team means that whilst I am responsible for the strategic thinking of the business, I still spend the majority of my time doing what I love, which is property deals.

The team mentality of FHP and strength in depth and quality of the people that we have in each of the individual teams means that whilst I do not handle all of the day to day instructions I know that our Client’s properties are in good hands.  I am still in touch with what’s happening through our team meetings every week and by sitting in amongst the agency teams on a day to day basis.

We have retained our entrepreneurial skills and whilst our teams are sectorally based we encourage a broad depth of knowledge – this has been fundamental to FHP’s continued organic growth through the worst recession that I have personally experienced.

Somewhat perversely I was personally involved in some of my largest deals during the recessionary period.  We are now seeing a greater cross spread of activity and demand across all sectors and I sincerely hope that the global / European economic uncertainty does not hold us back from continuing to achieve steady growth.

I do see however a current challenge as to how the market can provide the range and breadth of new business space development that the regional markets require to meet the emerging demand from the indigenous markets.
