Alastair Fearn

I am a committed and knowledgeable individual and I enjoy the challenge of working in the property industry. I treat my clients’ properties and interests with as much care and attention as I would my own, always making sure that I can be proud of the result achieved. 

I enjoy the range of work I encounter on a daily basis, whether it’s negotiating with the Valuation Office Agency in relation to business rates, renegotiating leases on behalf of landlords and tenants or advising a client on an investment acquisition. 

I regularly appear at Valuation Tribunal and most recently won a case relating to the granting of allowances to Businesses negatively affected by the roadworks caused by the Nottingham Tram system. This judgment meant that the businesses I represent gained a greater allowance than any other warehousing occupier in Nottingham. 

Being MRICS qualified and an RICS Registered Valuer enables me to put into practice the knowledge I’ve gained within the FHP Agency team, to adopt a practical approach to the technical matters of not only Lease Renewals, Re-gears and Rent Reviews, but also Business Rate appeals. I feel that my Agency background enables me to provide my clients with a complete picture of the market and where their expectations should lie. 

I deal primarily with office, warehousing, retail/leisure premises but whatever the property, I try to adopt a prompt and practical approach to ensure that my clients’ interests are best represented.

Current Role

  • Acting for Institutional and private Landlords in agreeing lease renewals and rent reviews across the Midlands
  • Dealing with Business Rates appeals for a wide variety of properties from Offices, Warehouses to Car Showrooms, Pubs and Wedding Venues
  • Auditing clients Business Rates demands to ensure that all changes are correctly applied and any reliefs that could be achieved are applied for
  • Advising clients on Investment acquisitions.


I have a young family and whilst they deal out their fair share in sleepless nights give plenty of fun times as well. I absolutely love sport, playing cricket for Ravenshead and I am a member at Radcliffe on Trent Golf Club. My football team is Nottingham Forest but I love going to Trent Bridge on a summers day to watch England play.
