After a brief hiatus, I returned home to the FHP team to resume my role as Associate Director within the Commercial Management Department providing strategic advice and day to day property management services to our landlord clients across the East Midlands and further afield. I have an extensive background in property management which has taken me from national PFI contracts, to residential block management and now to commercial surveying. I believe the role of property manager boils down primarily to two things; realising the value of an asset and protecting the client’s liabilities. At FHP we are experts at both.
In my current role, I am responsible for a varied portfolio of properties which includes industrial, office, retail and residential with a rent roll of over £2.8m ranging from single occupier FRI properties to large service charge estates. I always say a good managing agent earns their keep when things go wrong and I pride myself on being able to make a rational assessment of a situation and give my client the practical advice they need to get the best outcome possible.
Outside work I love travelling with my wife and have just completed a camper van conversion. I’m pretty competitive at heart and consider myself a bit of an athletic jack of all trades having competed at cross country running, basketball, bike trials and boxing in my younger years. Just don’t ask me to play football! These days I try my best to stay in shape and enjoy surfing when I can get to the coast (hence the camper van!), as well as mountain biking and hiking. Basically, any chance to get outdoors! I am also a photographer specialising in portraiture and the built environment.
