With a strong background in the industrial and office sectors across the West Midlands, I’ve also gained valuable experience in retail, land, and development projects. Over the years, I’ve advised a wide range of clients on both disposals and lettings, including well-known organisations such as UPS, Mileway, London & Cambridge Properties, Coventry City Council, Frasers Group, IM Properties, Complex Development Projects, and the National Trust.

Prior to my current role, I worked in both Agency and Property Management at Bromwich Hardy, where I developed a well-rounded understanding of the property lifecycle and the needs of both landlords and occupiers. Originally from Melbourne, Australia, I relocated to the UK in 2020 and have since built a strong network and deep local knowledge of the West Midlands commercial property market.

In September 2024, I joined FHP’s Retail and Leisure team. After graduating from Reading University’s Real Estate program, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with FHP, which will greatly enhance my learning, enable me to progress in the property sector and help advance my career.

I am a member of the Retail and Leisure team at FHP, working in the Birmingham office, operating all across the West Midlands. Alongside work, I am in the process of completing my Real Estate Management (MSc Hons) degree at Birmingham City University.

I started working for FHP in the Nottingham office in June 2023, and am looking forward to becoming a part of this respected Commercial Property Leader. This new position is ideal for me because I have experience in property development, estate agency, and facilities management. I have renovated several residential properties in the last 12 years giving me vast building knowledge. Now that I’ve joined FHP, I’m excited to utilise my expertise and contribute to the success of the company as Facilities Manager.

In July 2023 I joined FHP’s Derby Office where I work on industrial, office and retail instructions across the region. I am currently in my second year of a Degree Apprenticeship in Real Estate at Nottingham Trent University, intending to graduate and qualify as a Chartered Surveyor. FHP will provide me with hands-on experience that will benefit my learning and development in my career in property.

I have recently returned to FHP as a post-graduate, having graduated with a degree in Real Estate (BSc Hons) from Nottingham Trent University.  During my placement year at FHP, I gained valuable experience and insight into the industry, and I’m excited to continue my journey with the firm.  FHP provides a fantastic environment to grow and develop as a surveyor, particularly within the Office and Industrial team, working alongside the region’s leading market consultants.

I have over 10 years experience working in Revenues Council Tax and Business Rates from both local authority and the private sectors. I began my career in Revenues at Luton Borough Council starting as an Apprentice at the age of 18 and worked in the collection of aged debt.

I worked my way up the ranks and turned my interest to business rates when I became a visiting and inspections officer, inspecting businesses for all manor of queries including liability and relief applications. This gave me a great insight in the application of completion notice for new properties and part occupied relief. I became the business rates team leader shortly before Covid-19 where I assisted the council in the implantation of the government led grants.

I am fully qualified with the IRRV Honours having studied business rates and the impact on the High Street for my dissertation. My main skills are in the administration and payment of business rates and have a keen interest in learning to become a valuation surveyor.

After working within the local government housing / commercial maintenance sector for over 40 years, I have gained extensive experience of operating within a team that provides effective front line customer focused services. My journey began as an apprentice bench joiner and progressed to a more senior role as Head of Facilities Management at Nottingham’s largest repairs and maintenance provider. I have enjoyed many varied roles within my career and have worked with some amazing people.

Within FHP, my role is to support our Property Management Surveyors in providing a facilities management service to our tenants.

I joined FHP as a Business Rates Account Manager in April 2022 as part of the Professional Services Team in our Birmingham Office .

Prior to working for FHP I have had experience working in Business Rates for a large firm managing Business Rates on a leading Supermarket portfolio, a high profile High Street retailer and a large Accounting firm. I have also worked for a Local Authority in Gloucestershire and the Valuation Office Agency.

I joined FHP during the summer in 2022 whilst completing my Masters Degree in Real Estate at Nottingham Trent University where I gained a Distinction, having previously graduated from the University of Nottingham with a 2:1 in History.

I work in FHP’s Derby office, predominately dealing with the sale and lettings of all forms of commercial property including office, industrial, retail and land. I cover Derbyshire and the surrounding areas including Derby, Ilkeston, Long Eaton, Alfreton, Ashbourne and Burton. I also assist on landlord and tenant matters covering lease renewals and rent reviews alongside aiding the professional team on valuation work.

I am a member of the Retail and Leisure Agency team at FHP.  I am in the process of completing my degree apprenticeship at Nottingham Trent University going down the Real Estate pathway with the intention to graduate and qualify as a Chartered Surveyor in 2024.

I joined FHP in September 2021, having recently relocated with my family from London. The company’s reputation is second to none and so I’m very happy to have joined the team as a Property Management Surveyor. Prior to FHP, I was at CLS Holding plc for almost 9 years, of which the last 7 years were as a Property Manager. In March 2020, I was very proud to achieve a MSc in Real Estate with Distinction from the University College of Estate Management. I look forward to the new experiences and range of challenges that lie ahead of me.

I am delighted to have started my real estate career in a company such as FHP who are the leading property consultants within the East Midlands. After just completing a Master’s degree in Real Estate at Nottingham Trent University, I am excited to progress within the property industry and see what the future holds for me at FHP. With some experience in the office sector already, I am looking forward to growing my knowledge and gaining new experience within the other sectors.

I originally joined FHP back in 2015 in the Derby office, and then rejoined in 2021.  My transfer back into private practice and the welcoming arms of FHP, means that I can do what I love the most, valuing properties around the Midlands, for a variety of clients.

The world has changed, but great property advice is still a fundamental part of the process for businesses and clients. Working back at FHP, has given me the opportunity to join a great team of people.

My previous experience within the public and private sectors, has seen me valuing property around the East Midlands since 2000.  Previously working for a major global property consultancy, I have dealt with a wide variety of commercial and residential properties, from small industrial units to large commercial development schemes, acting for the major lending institutions, private individuals, property owners and companies.  As a consequence I have built up an in depth knowledge of the market, which is backed up by the superb agency team at FHP.

I have over 17 years experience in the property industry which has taken me from FM, to residential block, to commercial management and latterly to lease advisory and retail agency having joined FHP in 2014 as a management surveyor.

While these roles vary from one to the next, the common thread is having the ability to make a sound assessment of a given situation and give my clients the advice they need to achieve the best outcome possible. I believe this is my primary skill which I apply to whatever project I am working on.

My background is predominantly within the retail and leisure sector, having advised landlords, investors and developers on a wide range of UK wide transactions since 2005. I have also provided strategic acquisition and disposal advice to widely known occupiers such as Apple, Vodafone, Starbucks, One Stop, Wolseley, Barclays, Cash Access UK and a host of other national and regional names.

Previously I was Head of Midlands Retail & Leisure at Cushman & Wakefield, where the Birmingham based team had some huge successes, most notably the retention of EGi’s most active agent award for 5 consecutive years.

Clients I have worked particularly close with include LCP, M&G, Wesleyan, Bruntwood, Cala Homes, Calthorpe Estates, Heimstaden, Starbucks and Goodstone Living.

Standout career transactions include the investment acquisition of Gracechurch Shopping Centre Sutton Coldfield, Exchange Buildings New Street Birmingham, The School Yard Harborne, and high-profile leasing transactions including Flight Club Temple Street Birmingham, Cotswold Company Leamington Spa, Tesco Express Hagley Road Birmingham, Koi Ki Harborne and Coffee #1 Moseley.

I joined FHP in December 2017 having come from a role with Nottingham City Council where I oversaw the Business Rates team who were responsible for the collection of circa £130 million p.a. as well granting appropriate reliefs and exemptions to ratepayers.  At the very start of my career I spent four years working for the Valuation Office in the London Borough of Greenwich.

I knew Andrew Chapman and his team from contact I had with them whilst at the City Council and I am finding working for the private sector a fascinating contrast to local government.  I am of course putting the knowledge I gained whilst with the City Council to good use in reducing our clients’ business rates liabilities.

Having worked within commercial property management since 2012, I have a wide breadth of knowledge and experience, particularly in the management of multi-let office buildings, retail and shopping centres. My current portfolio covers a variety of different types of commercial property with a diverse client base. Being a property manager involves regular problem solving, quick thinking and good communication. I work closely with our other property disciplines to ensure we provide the best possible service and strategic asset management advice for our clients.

I am a member of the Office and Industrial team at FHP, having joined the firm in June 2017.  I hold an RICS-accredited degree in Surveying from Nottingham Trent University, which I completed in 2011.  Before returning to the property sector, I gained valuable commercial experience working my family’s fresh produce business. This period provided me with a strong foundation in business operations and client service, which I have since brought into my property career. I returned to the property industry in 2016 and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2020.  With a blend of practical business insight and professional expertise, I play an active role in advising clients across the office and industrial markets.

I am a Director within the FHP Professional Services Team, experienced with providing occupiers, landlords and developers across the UK with strategic Business Rates advice to proactively minimise their exposure to Business Rates. Such includes appeal work, empty rates mitigation strategies, advice during redevelopment works, challenging Completion Notices and rates account management.

In addition to the above, my role involves undertaking property valuations of single assets and portfolios of all commercial property types and residential developments for both major lending institutions and private individuals; and rent reviews and lease renewals for all commercial property types.

I joined FHP in 2014 having previously worked for a surveying practice in West London focusing on office and industrial/warehouse instructions within close proximity of Heathrow Airport. I now form part of FHP’s Office and Industrial Team working from the Derby office where I focus on the sale, leasing, acquisition and development of office and industrial premises in strategic locations along the M1, A50 and A38 corridor across Derbyshire, Staffordshire, and the wider East Midlands.

I’m a Director within the FHP Retail and Leisure Team focused on shopping centres and roadside retail alongside investments.  I undertake acquisitions for a number of retail and leisure clients across the UK and act on behalf of a variety of shopping centre and developer clients.

I act on behalf of the owners of Victoria Centre Nottingham and Derbion Centre Derby and oversee the leasing on a number of smaller regional shopping centres.

I joined FHP several years ago as one of the dominant agencies in the region, attracted by a shared ethos of quality of service, in depth market knowledge, adding value, teamwork and proactive approach. Having qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1996 I have worked for both national and regional practices across the Midlands, with the last 20 years or so based from Derby. I have and continue to deal with a wide range of properties and sectors including industrial and distribution, offices, development land, and retail. Following many years of experience in the transactional side of the business, I now focus largely on property valuation for a variety of purposes including loan security, pension fund, company accounts, Charities Act, taxation and insurance reinstatement, although I still get involved in matters such as rent reviews, lease renewals, acquisitions and strategic advice. My hands on market knowledge enables me to provide the best advice for clients. Our in depth knowledge in the market combined with a practical approach and wide resources allow us to provide sound advice.

I am predominantly involved in the office and industrial occupier and investment sectors advising in the leasing, sale and acquisition of property across the East Midlands and more specifically Nottinghamshire. I also advise on industrial developments and office to residential conversion opportunities.

Within the Professional Services Department, my day-to-day role involves dealing principally in Property Valuations and Investment Acquisition. I’m also trained as a Level 4 EPC Energy Professor to add to the range of services we’re able to provide our customers.

I’ve been part of the Nottingham Property Market for many years and am also now actively involved in the Newark Retail Market. As such I have many contacts and have advised clients in Investment Acquisition and in the Letting and Investment sale of Fat Face on Middlegate in 2010.

I qualified as a Level 4 Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) Surveyor in 2008 and now undertake a range of assessments on all types of commercial buildings, ranging from a bar/restaurant complex to large and small industrial units, and a retail parade. My current role also includes bank Valuation Work, Investment Sales and advising in Property Litigation.

As a Director within FHP’s Professional Services Team my own work now focuses primarily on two areas. Business Rates to reduce liabilities whether a building is occupied or vacant and Lease Consultancy providing advice to both Landlords and Tenants at lease renewal, rent review and during lease re gear negotiations.

I am experienced in providing Expert Witness evidence at both Valuation Tribunal and during the course of dispute resolution regarding rent reviews and lease renewals.

I work across the Country for a wide variety of clients from institutional investors and pension funds to entrepreneurial businesses and developers.

I am also an APC Counsellor to a number of the FHP Graduates and I help co-ordinate in-house training sessions to support our APC candidates.

FHP are the dominant Retail and Leisure Agent within the Midlands, winning the EGi East Midlands most active agent award for the last 14 years. We offer a unique service to our clients with our lateral thinking and in-depth knowledge of the market given our presence throughout the Midlands, by reducing voids and driving value and returns for our clients.

Valuation encompasses all aspects of professional work and it’s of paramount importance to have a broad depth of knowledge and experience in order to advise clients appropriately.

I provide extensive valuation advice, primarily within the East Midlands, for a variety of purposes. Key clients range from the majority of the major lending institutions to private individuals.

Within the Education sector, I am developing our work with Academy clients, where FHP Education has advised over 200 Academies since 2012.

Another key area of my work is in respect of Compensation and Compulsory Purchase, where in particular I have acted on behalf of a variety of claimants on schemes including the Nottingham Express Transit NET2 tram, A46 Newark to Widmerpool Trunk Road Improvement, Loughborough Inner Relief Road and the Nottingham Left Bank Flood Alleviation Scheme.

The property market is constantly changing and the economic events of recent years have clearly demonstrated the importance of open, analytical, market-informed appraisals which FHP prides itself on providing to our clients.

FHP provides a full range of property-related services, which brings me into contact with a diverse range of clients, properties and occupiers, and interesting challenges. This has led to a continual evolution of FHP’s Property Management Service which now covers the whole property spectrum, from Mixed-use Leisure and Commercial schemes to multi-occupied Residential Properties and Residential Housing Estates.

What I enjoy most about my role at FHP is that it enables me to work across most of our property disciplines, and develop and sustain working relationships with a mix of clients and occupiers which regularly changes.

Looking back, I feel that I’ve learned considerably more in the last near decade or so that at any other time in my 46-year career. That’s because at FHP, I’m surrounded by surveyors who are highly intelligent, highly motivated and extremely knowledgeable.

I buy and sell commercial investments and now sell a number of residential investments, mainly within a 40 or 50 mile radius of Nottingham, although I have bought properties on the south coast and elsewhere. FHP has helped me broaden my investment knowledge in relation to other markets.

I have been able to advise certain wealthy individuals on a considerable amount of investment and development funding situations whereby we have provided the finance for small time developers to be involved in projects far greater than any bank would have allowed them. This has given us an unrivalled expertise in the funding and secondary market within the East Midlands area. A large number of those projects have been highly successful although, admittedly, during the present economic times one or two schemes have been “moth balled” but however other ones are ongoing and are, (despite the present market conditions), now letting out well. However we are now coming out of the recession and are looking at pre-letting these outstanding development sites.

We believe that the market is slowly improving and there are certain special opportunities where we are taking advantage of market conditions to be able to buy sites and go and carry out developments.

In more recent years we have confined the activities to purely selling and buying investments. During the last 12 months we have received a considerable number of instructions to sell investments and providing they are correctly priced they do sell readily well.

Throughout my 11 years at FHP I thoroughly enjoyed working here with the other Surveyors and have hopefully been able to add to the profile of FHP in terms of the investment market. Despite the present economic climate we probably do more investment work than any of the other agents in the Nottingham area.

Life changes through being in recession since August 2007 and recessions don’t go on forever. We are slowly coming out of recessions, there are lots more lettings albeit soft deals but soon the development cycle will start again even if it is some 12/24 months away and there are lots of opportunities. The current availability of all the main sectors i.e. retail, office and industrial is shrinking and this will consequently lead to an increase in hardening in rents, disappearing incentives as far as the tenants are concerned, which will lead to the development cycle starting again.
