Victoria’s Secret is set to open a store at Derbion in Derby, as the lingerie retailer continues to expand across the UK.

The retailer has agreed to take a 5,712ft² unit on a 10-year lease, expanding out of its current space in Next into its own unit.

Victoria’s Secret’s first permanent store in Derby will allow the brand to access a greater customer base in the East Midlands and offer a range of lingerie, sleepwear, and beauty products.

The arrival of Victoria’s Secret at Derbion follows a strong year for the scheme, which completed 89,789ft² of new openings, upsizes, and relocations in 2024.

Fashion and lifestyle brand, White Stuff has secured a 1,501 sq ft area at Derbion, a retail and leisure hub in the Midlands. The new store is scheduled to launch in June, the flagship store will feature the brand’s collections of women’s and men’s clothing, as well as accessories.

This announcement comes after £5m being poured into the development of three new concept stores for JD, New Look, and Ann Summers at Derbion.

JD is set to expand its store to a 20,175 sq ft space by the end of this year, more than doubling its current size.

A trio of leading brands are set to open new concept stores at East Midlands shopping destination Derbion, following a combined investment of over £5m.

Sports and fashion retailer JD Sports is set to double the size of its existing presence at the scheme, opening a new 20,175 sq ft flagship store for Christmas this year.

Also relocating is fashion retailer New Look, which will open a 10,000 sq ft store this Autumn, offering a range of womenswear, footwear, accessories, lingerie, and concessions on the centres Lower Mall adjacent to Frasers.

Lingerie and intimates retailer Ann Summers have relocated on the Upper Mall and investing in its latest store design.

The investments form part of Derbion’s continuing growth strategy to reposition the centre and support existing retailers alongside new lettings.

H&M and H&M Home have chosen Victoria Centre, to launch their new 2,177 sq m store in Nottingham.  The store will offer customers a new, fresh interior look and feel for the brand.

Alongside its expansive womenswear, menswear, and kid’s fashion offering, the store will also host the brand’s H&M HOME concept, where customers can enjoy curated collections of contemporary décor and home accessories alongside the latest trend-driven fashion collections and styles.

The Swedish high-street and online favourite, will be located in a prime position in the centre, on the lower mall next to Levi’s, which opened in November, adding to our established collection of fashion retailers, including Urban Outfitters, Superdry, River Island and White Rose, as well as clothing and homeware brands like John Lewis & Partners and Next.

“Recycled fashion” retailer White Rose, which was set up by two Nottingham Trent University students in 2009, has opened another new store in the city – its eighth in total.

The charitable fashion brand has opened the new shop on the upper mall of the Victoria Centre, with the aim of reducing fast fashion’s impact on the environment and minimising waste, shoppers will find a range of second-hand men’s and women’s clothing, accessories and footwear.

Its offering of pre-loved items also features a mix of premium and high-street brands, including the likes of Ralph Lauren, Miss Selfridge, Adidas and Zara, among others.

Three of Derbion’s jewellery stores will offer customers an improved shopping experience this year, as Beaverbrooks, Goldsmiths and Ernest Jones have all announced plans for renovation to accommodate a wider selection of luxury brands.

Beaverbrooks, is set for a full store refurbishment and upsize, including a brand new standalone TAG Heuer watch store, as well as an extended range of luxury brands such as Gucci, Longines, Michael Kors and Links of London.  The works will start next month and will continue until their reopening in Spring 2023.

Located on Level 1, leading jeweller Goldsmiths is set to invest in its store, increasing its footprint by 1000 sq ft later this year, with work on the unit expected to start in May.  The brand new store experience will give customers a new design to discover and the chance to shop a wider range of leading brands including Tag, Tudor, Tissot, Jenny Packham and Mappin & Webb.

Elsewhere, Ernest Jones is also investing further in its Derbion store with a new refreshed store design and a host of new brands. The revamp is set to be completed in the spring, with plenty of brands to browse from including new stores for Breitling, Omega and Tudor.

Sustainable fashion brand White Rose have opened on Albion Walk a new 3,000 sq ft flagship 14th store in the region following their recent opening in Leicester.

Derbion is investing more than £2 million into the refurbishment of its food court, introducing a fresh new look, new brands and additional seating.

The investment will increase seating capacity from approximately 650 to 800 to meet growing demand from visitors, with the area being renamed the Food Terrace to reflect its brighter and lighter atmosphere.

New flooring and lighting will be introduced to create a refreshed environment, and new mobile charging points, recycling stations and baby and children feeding facilities including microwaves and bottle warmers will be incorporated into the designs.

The refurbishment works have started are set to be completed by Autumn 2022, with the area remaining open for customers throughout.

Derbion will be bringing a number of new additions to the Food Terrace, to sit alongside its existing variety of grab and go options and standalone restaurants. The first new opening will be famed American fried chicken brand, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.

Founded in New Orleans in 1972, Popeyes has more than 45 years of history and culinary tradition and is known for its New Orleans style menu and unique ‘shatter crunch’ fried chicken. The menu includes the Chicken Sandwich which ‘broke the internet’ when launched in the US in 2019, as well Signature Louisiana Chicken, Chicken Tenders, and the Popeyes Biscuit. It is now one of the world’s largest chicken quick-service restaurants with over 3,600 restaurants in the U.S. and around the world. Popeyes at Derbion will be one of the first locations in the Midlands for the brand.

Popeyes, which is expected to open in November, will sit alongside existing brands including Subway, GDK and KFC, as well as Derbion’s eight standalone restaurants, including Wagamama, Carluccio’s, Nando’s, Pizza Express, Fridays and Five Guys.

Derby’s best-loved retail and leisure destination, Derbion, has revealed its H&M store is set to double in size later this year.

H&M will temporarily close its doors from Sunday 17th July, before re-opening on Level 2 in Autumn. The new 25,000sq ft store will offer visitors an extensive selection of women’s and menswear, as well as bringing H&M Kids under the same roof. The current H&M Kids store will remain open throughout the expansion, closing just before the transformation is complete to enable their relocation.

In a move that’s sure to delight shoppers, the new supersized store will also see H&M Home arrive at Derbion for the first time.  The new space will feature an extensive range of H&M’s Home products, including bed linen, glassware and many more stylish home accessories.

H&M’s significant upsize will see the retailer take over River Island’s former unit next door, as well as refresh its current space.  This follows the news that River Island will be relocating in-centre expanding its footprint by more than a third later this summer.

The news follows a string of announcements from Derbion including Jack Wills opening its doors earlier this month, as well as NEXT investing in its current space in-centre, which will deliver a number of exciting and physical changes to enhance its offer for shoppers this summer.

Today, Derbion has welcomed another retailer to its extensive offering.  LIDS, the world’s largest hat retailer in North America, selling fan and fashion-oriented headwear and apparel, has open a brand-new 800 sq. ft store in Derbion.

The new store, located on Level 2 between Whitewall Galleries and the upcoming Frasers store, offers a vast assortment of college, MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL team hats, as well as other specialty sports fashion categories, all in the latest styles and colours.

Adam Tamsett, general manager at Derbion, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome LIDS to our retail offering!  With such a unique offering of branded headwear, LIDS will give our fashion-focused visitors even more variety when they shop.
